I love Google Reader. What does that have to do with cleaning, cooking, and general homemaking activities? Not much, directly. However, it does give me access to tons of great information on any topic that I might care to know about. Since I am an information-oholic/avid reader/wannabe writer, this is good for me.
The thing I’ve recently come to love about it is the “Next” button. This is an amazing little button that you can put in your favorites or on your bookmark bar. It simply says “Next”. When you click it, it automatically goes to the next unread blog article and marks it as read in Google Reader. You don’t even have to log in…keep clicking it, and it can take you all the way through your blog list. Incredible.
So why do I even care to share this with you? Because today I reached a huge milestone, and without Google Reader, it would have not been possible. I got through my last unread blog, and my browser declared, “Congratulations, you’ve reached the end of the internet.”
Wow. That is one fantastic accomplishment. Like hiking the Appalachian Trail or eating my way through an entire box of chocolate-covered cherries, except I don’t have the inconvenience of being tired or sick to my stomach.
My only complaint is that they didn’t show more fanfare about this great thing that I’ve done. I mean, a little confetti would have gone a long way, you know what I mean? But that’s alright. The satisfaction of a job well done is reward in itself.
