Thankfully, my must-be-stumbling-all-the-time phase lasted only a few days. I still really enjoy using StumbleUpon to track all of the great things I find when I’m online, but it’s gotten a little more realistic. Still, I managed to find some pretty cool sites this week. My favorites include:
- Why hand piece? - This printable list of the top ten reasons to hand piece your quilting projects is such an inspiration. I find that I’m always saying “no” to trying out quilting because I just don’t have the patience to sit down at my machine and start, stop, start, stop with all of those little pieces. I think having it as an ongoing outlet of creativity will be a simple way to get me started.
- Quilted plant markers - These plant markers are not your ordinary variety — they’re quilted! I’ve decided that these will be my first quilting project (hand-pieced, of course!)
- Printable Valentines - These printable valentines from Inside a Black Apple are retro and adorable and folksy…and I just love them and can’t believe they’re free!
- Tu for Tee - ADORABLE appliqued shirts for girls with little tutus attached. So sweet!
- Heart-shaped tea bags - A cute craft for your tea-loving Valentine from (can you guess?) Martha Stewart.
- “Dreaming of You” iron-on transfer - Free printable iron-on transfer from the ever-so-generous Ez over at Creature Comforts. It’s a whimsical-looking print that says “Dreaming of You” with a few little hearts floating around. Available in both pinks and blues.
- Beansoup overall aprons - Cool, durable no-tie aprons for kids.
- Pleasant kitchen dishtowels - Alicia Paulson graces us with her beautiful embroidered dishtowel designs — for free! I love how she features practical elements in a truly stylish way.
- Bebe Shooz - These shoes (shooz?) are so adorable…the only problem is that there’s no mention of a price anywhere! That’s a hint that I can’t afford them.
- Triple chocolate scones class - These triple chocolate scones look like they would make for a good Valentine’s Day breakfast. Too bad I’m not a morning person, huh?
Have fun with this week’s favorite finds! If you’d like me to take a look at something you love or have posted about, feel free to shoot me an email at sarahjoy AT todayshomemaker DOT com. I always love tips on great new finds!
