I usually respond to comments via email, but I'll post my response to Victoria here in case others are in need of the same information:

Thanks for your comments! Vegan diets do not include any animal-derived products (including milk and butter), so you might want to research those. I don't usually make a lot of vegan food, but there is a whole blog community dedicated to it. Here are some good websites for you:

http://happyfoody.com/
http://veganmenu.blogspot.com/ (excuse the title!)
http://meganthevegan.blogspot.com/
http://aveganfordinner.blogspot.com/

(For next Monday's segment, I'm planning a round-up of some good milk protein-free recipes...should be interesting!)

hey sara, i had a quick question for you, my son has been diagnosed with a milk protein allergy which means that he cant have anything with milk, cheese, butter, whey, casein, etc... i was wondering do you have any good recipies that i can make for him, he just turned three and we are trying to feed him things that are good for him but all of the recipies i find require things like butter, the milk we can work with because we use soy, but so far i havent found a way to get around the butter and cheese. if you could help it would be great..thanks, victoria
