Cookies and Bars

If you want to tell someone you love them, just make cookies. I'm serious. When somebody bakes you cookies, it makes you feel...mothered (in a good way). These selections from The Gourmet Cupboard definitely spread the love.

We're working with a limited inventory right now. If you see something that you want that's listed as "unavailable", just let me know. We'll get it in stock and let you know when it gets here.
Bethany's 5 Minute Chocolate Fudge
The way you make this fudge is so surreal to me. You pour the mix into a dish, make a well in the center, and add your other ingredients. You do not even stir it before putting it in the microwave for 2 minutes. THEN you stir and pour into a dish. I was skeptical at first, but they have made a believer out of me. This is the best, most authentic (read: RICH) fudge I've ever tasted. Requires butter, milk, and vanilla. Nuts optional. Makes 9x9 pan.

Chocolate Chip Cookies
Everyone that tries these says that they are the best chocolate chip cookies they've ever had. One caveat: there is no guarantee that the chocolate will not melt during shipping. I might steer clear in the hottest months of the year, unless you've just GOT to have them. Requires shortening, eggs, and vanilla. Makes 2 dozen.

Double Fudge Brownies
Full of chocolate chunks, these brownies are rich and delicious. Walnuts are included, but are packaged separately in case you don't care for them (my husband's glad of that). Requires butter and eggs. Makes 9x9 pan.
$4.75
Eggnog Fudge
This isn't QUITE as easy as the 5 minute fudge...you probably need a candy thermometer to get it right. However, it just might be worth it if you want something special (and unique) during the holiday season. Requires eggnog and corn syrup. Makes 9x9 pan.

M&M Bars
Rich, chocolatey, and full of M&Ms. I don't think anyone will complain. I've been told to warn you though...the chocolate is in danger of melting during shipping. I don't know how often this actually happens, but you never know. Requires butter or margarine, an egg, and vanilla. Makes 9x9 pan.

Oatmeal Raisin Spice Cookies
I've never met an oatmeal cookie I didn't like. Well, maybe those off-brand ones that they used to serve in Sunday School. Read this blog about my personal experience with these cookies. Requires butter or margarine, an egg, and vanilla. Makes 2 dozen.
$5.50
Peanut Butter Cookies
My personal favorite. Requires shortening, peanut butter, eggs, and vanilla. Makes 3 dozen.
$4.75
Peanut Butter Fudge
This uses the same microwave method as the 5 minute fudge...and it is so unbelievably good. Requires butter and milk. Makes 9x9 pan.
$4.75
Reese's Cup Bars
I'm mad. These look yummy, but I'm scared to try them because I just know the peanut butter cups are going to melt in the mail! They practically melt in normal weather, much less in a hot mail truck. I guess I'll just have to wait 'til December...sigh. If you're feeling lucky, please let me know how they are. But don't act TOO excited when you tell me...I know I'll just get extremely jealous.

Snickerdoodle Cookies
I do not know why my husband doesn't like Snickerdoodles. I think he's nuts! How could anyone not like such an innocent little cinnamon-sugar covered cookie? They are so fabulous. Requires butter, an egg, and some cinnamon and sugar to roll the cookies in. Makes 2 dozen.
$4.25
Sugar Cookies
Every year before Christmas, my friend Danielle has a big cookie baking/decorating party, and it is so much fun. I think this year, I'll bring these. They are simple and come out perfectly every time. Requires butter, vanilla extract, and eggs. Makes 2 dozen.
$4.50
Texas Cowboy Cookies (Ingredients Layered in a Bag)
Our grocery store used to carry this amazing oatmeal chocolate chip cookie mix. John and I used to always make them. For some reason, they stopped making it, and we haven't seen it since. I am so excited because this mix tastes very similar...yay! Requires butter or margarine, an egg, and vanilla. Makes 2 dozen. Note: no guarantee that chocolate will not melt during shipping.

Texas Cowboy Cookies (Ingredients Layered in a Jar)
This mix is the same as the one above, but it is meant to be given as a gift. Packaged in a mason jar with fabric over the lid, it's got southern country charm written all over it. Requires butter or margarine, an egg, and vanilla. Makes 2 dozen. Note: no guarantee that chocolate will not melt during shipping.
